Yang Sun

Welcome

I am a PhD candidate in astronomy at the University of Arizona working with Prof. George Rieke. My researches combine observations and modeling to study the emergence and evolution of supermassive black hole and galaxy co-evolution from the early to the present-day Unvierse. I am also interested in how galaxies stop their star formation at different cosmic epochs, especially the impact of AGN-driven outflow on cool gas within post-starburst galaxies.

I am the member of JWST Advanced Deep Extragalactic Survey(JADES), the largest program in JWST Cycle 1 combining the GTO observations of NIRCam, NIRSpec, and MIRI-US team in the GOODS-S and GOODS-N field. I am also contributing to the Systematic Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI) Legacy Extragalactic Survey (SMILES), a GTO program observing eight-band MIRI imaging with medium-resolution NIRSpec spectroscopy in the GOODS-S/HUDF field.
